The station is part of a broader redevelopment plan for the northern area of Reggio Emilia, which also includes the famous motorway bridges designed by Santiago Calatrava himself.
Cimolai appointed Calzolari to develop the working design for the new outdoor seating created by the Spanish stararchitect specifically for this site. The benches are anchored to the ground via a single steel support connected to an underground foundation pad. The colour of the elements matches the dominant shade used for all the steel structures of the new station.
